Description: VTG Sterling Overlay Coral Concho Belt 147g Hopi Native American Yowytewa 1970s This is a beautiful sterling silver link concho belt with 15 oval conchos and a slightly larger oval buckle. Each concho (plus the buckle) have creative designs made from a traditional overlay technique with a darkened (oxidized) silver base. The stone and bezel are also set on the oxidized silver base to add more contrast. Each concho is connected with a heavy gauge silver link. From tip to tip, the belt is 35.5" long. The 15 conchos are 1 3/8" wide and 1" tall. The buckle is slightly larger, being 1 1/2" wide and 1 1/8" tall. The silver links have an outer diameter of 7/16". The coral cabochons are of variable size, but in general are 1/8" by 3/8". It weighs a solid 147 g. The artisan's hallmark is on the buckle, "MY" for Hopi silversmith Marcus Yowytewa. This piece was likely fashioned in the late 1970s. Touch of Turquoise invites you to Wear the West! Domestic USPS shipping with insurance is included.
