HERE WE HAVE: A vintage or possibly antique scale made by The Torsion Balance Co. of Clifton, New Jersey! The metal plate on the front notes this as style "IL-1" and number "42411". It has a 4 1/2 KG capacity. I've seen some being noted as being from the 1920s, but I'm not certain of the age!It's got a cast metal base and thick, glass panels along the top and sides. There are four "columns" around the corners, two have a brass look to them and two are chromed. Two ~9" trays rest on top. CONDITION: Being sold as is, for parts or repair! I'm not sure if it's working as intended. The scale doesn't balance/rest at the middle with or without the trays.. I think maybe they would even out if the feet were adjusted?.. but I can't get the adjustment bolts to move! Likely needs some servicing by someone who knows what they're doing! Some edge wear, scuffs, scratches, and general discoloration scattered throughout. There's small chipped spot on the glass at the front; I don't feel the damage but it's visible. Metal parts have tarnish as well as some surface corrosion spots. Round trays have some dings. Will come as shown, so please see photos! MEASUREMENTS: Whole piece measures approximately 20 1/2" wide, 9 1/8" front-to-back, and 10 1/4" tall at furthest points when trays are on scale.
