Description: VTG Turquoise Watch Band Cuff Heavy Gauge Sterling Silver Native American Signed This is a magnificent heavy gauge (and we do mean heavy gauge) watch band cuff. From its design and construction, it is likely to have been crafted in the late 1950s or early 1960s, and very likely had a Navajo artist. You can tell from the watch face connector flaps that this piece has never been used before, which is a shame given its beauty. The six exquisite turquoise cabochons are all set in hand-formed smooth bezels which are surrounded by twisted silver wire. The turquoise cabochons have a rare "seafoam" finish to them. Along each side are heavy rails that feature hand stamp work, and between the turquoise stones the artist placed larger silver dots (water dots). It is truly a remarkable piece. The watch band tapers from 15/16" to 3/4" in width. The watch face area is 15/16" wide and 7/8" long. The turquoise stones are roughly 1/4" by 3/8" to 3/8" by 7/16". The inner circumference of the band is 5 1/2" with an additional 1 1/4" wrist gap. It weighs an impressive 88 g. The artist's hallmark is a stamped "WA". Please measure your wrist twice and know your proper size BEFORE purchasing this watch band. Because there are stones set in it, opening it up by hand could crack the silver or loosen a stone. The same things can happen if you squeeze the band too hard to make it smaller. If it needs a small adjustment to be more comfortable for you, please take it to your favorite professional jeweler.
