Description: Here is the Pump Cottage figurine 01 from the 1980 Set 1 of the Wade Whimsey-On-Why collection series. Approximately 1 ¼ long. Whimsey-On-Why is the name Wade gave to the mythical English village made up of a series of miniature houses and buildings. In 1980, Wade began producing and issuing numbered sets of these figurines. Sets 1 through 4 had 8 figurines each and set 5 had 4 figurines. The walls and roofs of these figurines were thicker and sturdier than the “typical Wade” animal figurines and in general, weigh more. An interesting feature is that the number of the building / structure in the series appears as part of the artwork / decal on the figurine. The 1980 Series figurines included Pump Cottage, Morgan's the Chemist, Doctor Healer's House, Tobacconist's Shop, Why-Knot Inn, Bloodshot Hall, Saint Sebastian's Church and The Barley Mow. As with all Wades, there is a chance for a manufacturing flaw. Be sure to review photos prior to committing to a purchase. Contact seller with any questions or special requests.
