This cel set-up, “Chernabog,” recreates Sequence 11, Scene 57 of the film: Amidst his midnight revelry of evil, Chernabog, the Slavic god, commands a swell of supernatural flames. Disney has recreated the artwork from this sequence using traditional animation techniques. Artists of The Walt Disney Studios Ink and Paint Department transferred the original animation drawings to each acetate cel using 12 hand-inked lines, 2 xerographically-applied lines, and then hand-painted the cels using 16 Disney-approved acrylic colors, 3 airbrush colors and 1 transparent paint color.” See photo for more COA details. This rare limited edition cel has been displayed in a smoke and pet free home. It has very minor staining from over time on the matte, which doesn’t affect the cel.
