This is a WALT DISNEY IMAGINEERING IRC Department WDI RESEARCH PhotoCopy PRINT My favorite part of this PHOTO is HOW WALT'S STRIPPED SHIRT matches THE STRIPES ON THE ROOF OF THE INFORMATION BOOTH- lol The Clock of the World was a landmark formerly located at the entrance of the Tomorrowland area at Disneyland. This unique timepiece featured the 24 different time zones around the world to give guests information about the different time zones from all around the world, many of the areas having different time zones compared to the local time in California where is Disneyland is located. This landmark was roughly fifteen feet high designed to resemble a typical hourglass to reinforce the ordinary structure to be indeed a clock compared to many standard clock designs. This landmark also featured a design depicting an illustration of the Sun and the Moon located on top of the World Clock. Although it told the time for almost anywhere on earth, it does not show the time zones with offsets that were not full hours such as the Newfoundland Time. During its opening day, the World Clock represented the future in 1955. However, as of 1966, it represented the past. As of 1966-1967, Tomorrowland had a major refurbishment due to many elements becoming completely outdated around the point. As a result, the World Clock was removed alongside everything else located in the new Tomorrowland. Legacy A tribute to the World Clock was featured in the former Innoventions attraction placed on a wall with a door at the Innoventions Dream Home, which opened from May 2008 and closed on February 2015.
