Description: Antique Victorian Flow blue 1890 WARWICK CHINA BLUE this is a great pattern super pansy floral pattern with trimmed splatter goldthis is a beauty bone china and great embossing as well as vertical lines with raised embossed design the bowl measures 10.25 inches wide by 2 . 25 deep The Flow Blue story is interesting in itself. It's unknown how it really began...a happy accident then intentionally? Sometimes called "Flown Blue". At any rate there was a period in early1800s-early 1900s beginning in Staffordshire England potteries where the blue was "flowed" during firing. By the Victorian era and late 1800s porcelain was a desirable item and Flow Blue became a trendy thing. Collectors even value cracked dishes.
