No attachments of any kind. And the semi-mysterious signature and inscription (would love to know who that other 'Famous Family' was) is the only writing to be found anywhere. There are two very staged-looking photographs of John and Ethel Barrymore, a photograph of John and Lionel acting in Peter Ibbetson, Lionel Barrymore and Doris Rankin in The Copperhead, Lionel Barrymore directing the film debut of the Metropolitan Opera star Lawrence Tibbett, in The Rogue Son, Lionel Barrymore and Norma Shearer in A Free Soul (Academy Award Performance 1961) the, Lionel Barrymore as Scrooge in Dickens' Christmas Carol, and several others. First Edition (Appleton '(1)' at the bottom of the last page of the Index makes it certain that this is the first edition. A little more difficult to be sure of who signed this book. If anyone can clear that up for me I would appreciate it. At first, I thought I had a book signed by the great actor John Barrymore. However, inconveniently, he had passed away nine years before the publication of the book. The inscription reads: 'From One Famous Family To Another/John Barrymore, (?).' The three letters under his name (I think it's three) are probably the best hint, but to my eye they look like 'Ebe' which doesn't mean anything. Calling on Drew Barrymore whose name I have placed in the 'Keywords' section. Best guess it's John Barrymore's son who was given his name and who was the father of Drew Barrymore, and also E.T. by another wife. Anyway, you can see the inscription on the front end paper which combined with the front inside cover presents the lineage of their extended family.
