CONDITION: This book/massive tome of knowledge is in beautiful NEAR FINE or better condition (many would say FINE given age and massive proportions) condition and appears barely read, if at all. The binding and pages are tight. Hinges and joints are still firm. Boards are colorful, unfaded, clean and have been exceptionally well-preserved by its dust jacket! Edges are clean with the exception of a small mark on bottom edge. Even the massive spine and spine tips are barely rubbed/unrubbed. Just some light shelf wear/edge wear rubbing to edges and corners. Interior is exceptionally clean with bright white pages and no writing, stickers, foxing or ex libris marks. Just the occasional sign of handling like a light page crease or finger handling on rare occasion. The one exception - the bio page of Noah Webster has vertical fold creases. A spectacular copy exceptionally well-preserved! The dust jacket is FAIR - complete and protected the book well! There are open tears and tears closed with tape. Edge wear creasing, chipping, and tears. Areas of rubbing and a few areas of soiling and some paper loss along some of the edges.
