Description: On offer here is a soft-cover book about WW2 Japanese airmen (fighter pilots) and the, mostly USA fighter pilots who opposed them in the War with Imperial Japan.This is a very interesting record of some of the TOP Japanese fighter aces, SABURO SAKAI being the most famous among them. The story traces many of the campaigns and the dogfights which attended those campaigns, as well as, the meetings between SAKAI and a few other Japanese pilots, and their American counter-parts, after the war, in the USA. ACTUALY, this exact copy offered here, belonged to JOHN D. FOLEY (aka Johnny Zero) a famous turret gunner of a B-26 credited with numerous "kills" and shown on page 43 of the book (SEE PIC 5 & shown with the pointer.) This copy was rescued by me, from a shed here in SoCal, together with numerous other books owned by Foley. This particular book does not have Foley's name stamped in it, as numerous other of his books do. I assume Foley must have bought a copy sometime soon after date of publication....and may well have met Sakai and the author, Henry Sakaida during the Japanese ace's tour of the USA, which included California.
