Description: Pencil, color pencil and watercolor on paper, monogrammed, signed L. Turner, and dated 1934, top left. 11" x 13", matted and framed to 18" x 22".An early version or study for her painting "Femme à la robe verte et son chat" (sold Vanderkindere Auction House, Brussels, Belgium, December 2021).Turner was a Belgian Expressionist who was born in Namur and studied art in Brussels, Munich and London. According to Papillon Gallery, Turner exhibited at the Brussels Triennale in 1914, then in London and Toronto during WW1. In the 1920's and 1930's, she exhibited widely in Paris and Brussels. In the mid 1930's, Turner travelled to Ukraine, where she executed a mural in the Monastary at Pidichalowce.Not examined out of frame; slight rippling to paper, damage to frame (see photos).
