Description: Rare. Hand Carved. Original Paint. Painted Eyes. One unique feature to this item is that it appears to be one solid piece. Many of the other duck decoys here on Ebay show the head and body as two seperate pieces that have been combined together. A second unique feature is that the position of the head and neck turned backwards in a sleeping or preening position. I purchased this from an estate sale a long time ago. It is unsigned, so I am not 100% certain who the designer is. The item is approximately 7 inches tall x 12 inches long. After researching hundreds of similar duck decoys online, I originally thought it looked identical to Charlie Joiner's "DRAKE" Wood Duck Decoys made in Maryland that have sold on Ebay based on the painting techniques on the body, the painted eyes, the carved outlines around the duck's bill (beak), and the exact same hardware underneath...however...another Ebay user reached out and strongly believes it was carved and painted by Captain Harry Jobes. I would encourage you to research the photos to see exactly what you can expect to receive, and to do your own research in regards to the designer.
