Description: I inherited this striking wood sculpture from an aunt who lived and worked in Africa, among other countries. She was in Africa in the 1960s. Because this piece was inherited and not gifted, I received no information with it. In looking around on eBay, this turns out to be a Chiwara from Mali, which is half antelope and half human and came to earth to teach humans to sow crops. It measures 17" tall and a little more than 3 1/4" across at its widest point. It's heavy, dark wood and is in excellent condition, with no damage to report. I apologize for not knowing more about it. Shipping is $15. Thanks for taking a look!
