This is a 1941 Iowa Hawkeye Yearbook (1939 Nile Kinnick Senior Year) AUTOGRAPHED by many Ironmen, the coaches of that team (Eddie Anderson, Jim Harris, Frank Carideo), among many, many other star Iowa Athletes! This is a ONE OF A KIND type collectible! The yearbooks back in that era came out 2 years after the year that everything took place. The person who obtained this yearbook was a freshman on the basketball team in 1939 and must have been a popular guy. You don't see many items from that time period that have so many signatures. And Nile Kinnick was already at Naval Training at the time this book was issued so it would have been almost impossible to have him autograph this book. 11 Ironmen including: Mike Enich, Erwin Prasse, Dick Evans, Russell Busk, Hank Vollenweider, Red Frye, Ken Pettit, Bill Gallagher, Oops Gilliard (RARE Signature/died young), Henry Luebcke, Bob Otto. 12 Freshman Football players signed, including Jim Youel. Basketball players including captain elect Vic Siegel as well as Ben Trickey. Legendary Baseball coach Otto Vogel as well as captain Jim George, among others. Track, Wrestling, and Gymnastics signatures as well. Have you ever seen another like it? I bet not! Yearbook is in used shape Spine is not perfect. Please see pictures.
