WOW Vintage American Character Tiny Tears Betsy Wetsy Ideal PAT# 22520 11” Doll

Description: This is an 11-inch baby doll from Ideal or American Character, featuring the classic character Tiny Tears or Betsy Wetsy as the companies used duplicated doll molds from others. The doll is made of vinyl and hard plastic, with molded wavy black hair and a light complexion. This doll features sleep eyes and its neck pivots on a ball jointed wood ball. The doll has light complexion, tin blue sleepy eyes and adorable features with red open mouth. They have molded hair that is curly and has a split at what would be a seam. Both hands have painted nails and their thumb in sucking position and painted toenails - hands and feet show wear. It is a soft body doll with a broken voice box I suspect was for crying. The composition arms and legs are 1/2 composition and 1/2 soft body. There is crazing that is expected given their age. Wearing a yellow romper with blue dot and white trim and a zipper - it is vintage though I do not believe original. I believe there is a remnant of the original pink outfit it came with as a bow around its neck. There is a marking at her neck with the patent number par no 22520. There is significant wear given the age please see photos for details.
