Description: For sale is an unusual alloy medallion with the words From J. Hardy, 18 ( or 8 ) M. G. Coy 1916 ( or possibly 1918 ) embossed on the edges. M. G. Coy where machine gun regiments in the first World war who operated Vickers machine guns on the front line. I,m not an expert on military medallions so cant provide further info. Not sure if it is Australian, but was accompanied by Australian service records ( retained by original family ) The medal has lines embossed around the perimeter ( front and back ) with a six sided star to the center. It has fine cross hatching behind the writing with the regiment number and date crudely cast while the lettering appears to be more substantially cast. This appears to be a very unusual item. I could not find any information about it online. Apologies for the photos, I,m not set up with high definition photography equipment. POSTAGE item will be sent with tracking.
