Description: An original hard to find British Mk1 Steel helmet with its liner, top pad and chin strap intact and in good condition. Be aware of some American P17 helmets being advertised as British / Australian helmets. Your genuine British / Australian helmet will have all of the following characteristics the same as this helmet: * Stamped F/S 38 indicating the shell was manufactured by Thomas Firth & Sons of Sheffield between 1916 and 1918. * Correct split pin rivet on the chin strap support bail. * Red War Office stamp under the oil cloth liner. * Top pad with colour ranging from tan to light brown. This example is in incredibly good condition. Top pad, liner and chin strap are in good condition. The chin strap features a field repair using a brass stud. A really nice and neat WW1 British / Australian Mk1 helmet. So hard to find in this condition.
