Description: WWI Era AEF US Army M1910 Canvas Haversack Pack Early Khaki Color - Complete - Marked: LD Inc. 1917 - Nice Condition Up for sale is a WWI Era US Army M1910 Haversack Pack. This pack is the Khaki color. It is marked: LD Inc. 1917 on the rear. The haversack is complete with all of the shoulder straps and the securing straps, buckles and snap hooks. The haversack is used, see photo's for condition. No rips or tears. A fray spot on one of the shoulder strap. There is name that is written on the inside of the pack, see photos. Some minor soiling from storage and handling over the past 105 years. NICE overall condition. A very nice representative example that has that "Been There" look without any abuse or major damage The Haversack was used from before WWI up through the middle of WWII as the standard pack system for the US Army. Technically is is NOT a pack. It is not fully enclosed like a pack, but rather wraps around the items to be stored. This makes it able to accommodate a large or small number of items. A pack tail was added to this system in order to accommodate longer items, such as a blanket. There was also a "meat can pouch" that was added to the upper flap to secure the mess kit and utensils for easy access. This is a necessary item for any WWII Field Gear Collection. Please see photos.
