Description: This postcard image by artist T. Cartiel (or Cartier?) features the "cowardly murder" of Miss Edith Cavell on October 12, 1915. Cavell was a nurse from Belgium and provided assistance to soldiers on both sides of the war, She was arrested for providing escape to some people and was killed by a German firing squad.
