Description: You are bidding on the 24th cover of a set of 100 first day covers containing stamps issued in the Marshall Islands commemorating the 50th anniversaries of the 100 most significant events starting with the invasion of Poland and ending up with the end of World War II on VJ day, September 2, 1945. This 24th cover depicts the 50th Anniversary of the Siege of Moscow on October 2, 1941 by German forces. The cover is double cancelled and the red cancellation is from Majuro proper on October 2, 1991, 50 years after the seige. The cover bears one 29 cent "Siege of Moscow 1941" stamp. The cover is signed by Sailass Andrike, Director of Post for the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The creator of the cover is also a member of the American Philatelic Society.
