The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Georg Schwaiger Georg was a Corporal in the elite Mountain Troops and passed on March 8, 1943 in a Russian POW camp just 6 weeks short of his 31st birthday.If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us.
