The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Ludwig Ernst Ludwig was a Private in a Radio Operations company in the Air Force. He passed from a severe illness in a rear hospital on July 5, 1942 at the age of 21 years and 11 months. -Please note the wear and tear from poor storage over the years.- If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us.
