The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Benedikt Hausberger Benedikt was a Corporal in the German Army and unfortunately not much is provided about his service. He was decorated several times but none are listed or visible. He fell on July 3, 1944 in the East at the age of 27. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us.
