Description: Thank you for viewing our listings. This listings is for a genuine and original WWII German Army Sterbebild. Sterbebild are also known as Funeral Cards or Death Notices. The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Franz Schwarz Franz was a Private in an Artillery Regiment and is shown wearing his service tunic and clearly visible in the S. A. Sports Badge on his left breast pocket. Franz fell while fighting in the East on September 8, 1942 at the age of 22. Please check back often as we will be listing more coins and currency.
