Description: Thank you for viewing our listings. This listings is for a genuine and original WWII German Army Sterbebild. Sterbebild are also known as Funeral Cards or Death Notices. The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. These particular card was printed in remembrance of: Private Fritz Linecker Fritz was a Volunteer and served in the pre-war Allgemeine and served in the 37th Foot Regiment as shown by the collar tab on his black service tunic. He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class and fell on December 23, 1941 on the Eastern Front at the age of 22. Please be sure to check back often as we will be listing more coins and currency.
