The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Kaspar Schwaiger Kaspar was a Private and is pictured in a real, glued in photo. He fell in the high North (Finland) on May 10, 1942 at the age of 23. Please check back often as we will be listing more coins and currency.
