Description: Thank you for viewing our listings. This listings is for a genuine and original WWII German Army Sterbebild. Sterbebild are also known as Funeral Cards or Death Notices. The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Franz Tiefenthaler Franz was a Sergeant in the Luftwaffe and awarded the Gold Front Fluing Clasp for 110 Missions and the German/Italian Campaign Medal. He is shown wearing his Luftwaffe tunic and the Clasp! He passed on May 5, 1944 in Sevastopol at the age of 23. Please be sure to check back often as we will be listing more coins and currency.
