The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Gustav Stuhlberger Gustav was a Radio Operator in the 3rd S. S. Mountain Troop Battalion and fell from shrapnel wounds in April 1945 in Coburg at the age of 19. Please check back often as we will be listing more coins and currency.
