Description: Thank you for viewing our listings. This listings is for a genuine and original WWII German Army Sterbebild. Sterbebild are also known as Funeral Cards or Death Notices. The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. These particular card was printed in remembrance of: Xaver Achatz Xaver was a Corporal in a Panzer Infantry Regiment. He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class, Infantry Assault Badge, Wound Badge and a Close Combat Clasp (most likely the a Bronze CCC as the grade isn't listed). He fell in the East on October 13, 1944 at the age of 21. Please be sure to check back often as we will be listing more coins and currency.
