This Swiss Army Canteen was made by "MEWA" (Metallwarenfabrik Wädenswil, Canton Zürich) in 1940 according to the stamping, Cup made by "MZ" (Metallwerke Zug, Canton Zug) in 1929 according to the stamping. The Canteen and Cup can hold 0.64 Liter each and are made out of aluminum. The canteens were olive until 1943 when the War Department called back all canteens, mess kits and helmets and painted them grey. Post WWII canteens were black. The cup have no folding handles, only Post WWII cups have this feature. Canteen and Cup show some use and wear (dents, paint loss, scratches).
