It is done in the fashion of the Victorian Era using only natural items. This style enhances the beauty of the subject and presents it in a natural surrounding with all natural elements. It is surrounded by real dried foliage, bark, flowers, moss, etc. and lichen with a real snail and ladybug. This would make a great learning/teaching tool, and fit into any collection! These are great gifts and wonderful little displays! Overall, this display is approximately 3 1/2 x 2 3/4". Species and fun facts- Species: Bombus impatiensBombus impatiens, the common eastern bumble bee, is the most commonly encountered bumblebee across much of eastern North America. They can be found in the Eastern temperate forest region of the eastern United States, southern Canada, and the eastern Great Plains. Millipede-JulidaJulida is an order of millipedes. Members are mostly small and cylindrical, typically ranging from 10–120 millimetres in length. Eyes may be present or absent, and in mature males of many species, the first pair of legs is modified into hook-like structures. Millipedes are a group of arthropods that are characterised by having two pairs of jointed legs on most body segments; they are known scientifically as the class Diplopoda, the name derived from this feature. Each double-legged segment is a result of two single segments fused together. NOTE: If your item is in a glass dome please be aware that the domes are NOT permanently connected to the base. Care has to be taken when opening or removing the dome so not to damage the display or specimen. If you are purchasing one of my Victorian displays and are familiar with Antique Victorian displays, you are aware of that they have usually fallen into disarray and disintegrated to the point that they no longer show well. My displays mimic the antique look without everything being washed out and tattered due to extreme age. I rarely have a problem but even with good packaging it is impossible for us to Guarantee that specimens will arrive totally intact although I have had very few problems to date. If you pay for Priority mail your items will be covered by postal insurance which will cover any damage in shipping-First class does not cover damage as it is not insured. The post office does now require you to bring the item in for inspection to receive postal insurance payouts. Your refund/discount will be processed once the item is presented at the post office. Items that ship free and are returned for incorrect address or insufficient address will be charged a restocking fee or shipping fee to cover initial shipping costs and the balance refunded or given the option to purchase shipping for resending the item with corrected address.
