Description: This is an eye-catching cabinet card. The photographer has stood the boy up on a wicker chair and has him staring directly at the camera. The boy appears to be wearing a Union-army hat/cap. The rest of his dress resembles a military uniform although we do not see any identifying marks. The stamp (in grey) at the bottom of the card, reads: OERTER. This was the name of a photographer (and family) that worked in Chaska, Minnesota from the 1880s to about 1910. From our research and the card itself we conclude that the photo was shot somewhere between the last decade of the 19th century and the end of the first decade in the 20th century.
