Zamia inermis Seeds - Very Rare

Description: Zamia inermis is endemic to central Veracruz, Mexico where it grows in the district of Actopan. Plants exist as two subpopulations in a small range of hills in the Rio Actopan drainage area, which is on the coastal side of Xalapa in central Veracruz. Zamia inermis is severely endangered due to loss of habitat with only a few hundred plants in its native habitat. The plants in the native habitat do not appear to be reproducing, possibly due to the loss of its native pollinator. It grows at about 600 to 1000 feet in elevation. Zamia inermis is relatively cold-tolerant (taking freezing conditions for short periods of time) and tolerates dry periods. It is suited to tropical, subtropical and mild temperate regions which have a seasonally dry climate. It's one of the more cold hardy Zamias and a relatively fast grower. It likes well-draining soil, and does not like to be overwatered when cold. It is extremely rare in cultivation and a highly prized cycad due to its attractiveness. Seeds were hand pollinated. Seeds are ready to sprout now. Price is per seed. Select the number of seeds you would like. Shipping is flat rate no matter the quantity of seeds purchased. Due to CITIES restrictions NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS ARE ALLOWED.
